Dover Channel Training I

It was a real pleasure to be back at swimmers beach in Dover  after a 5 year break..
Charlie & Basher  did a  7 hrs round trip drive from the midlands , just to swim 3 ½ hrs in 12 degree water Around Dover Harbor .!!! 
Sounds Crazy ..until you see 100`s of other swimmers
 who had made the same trip...
Welcome to the world of English Channel Swimming 
All smile charlie & Basher..
 well over  3 1/2 hrs done in 12 degree water..
great effort for the 1st time in the sea in 12 months 
we bumped  into the Great Philip Yorke
before he set off for a 6 hr swim
Phil is one of a very few swimmers to have swam the channel Breaststroke
which he did in 2015..next for Phil is helping & advising The Aspire Channel teams in 2016  before attempting the Catalina Solo next yr.

I was great meeting so many amazing swimmers wanting to swim the English Channel... today.
All with a different story , different reason for wanting to swim to france..
It was really great to see soo many in the harbour today must have been well over 100 people in the water at 9am..amazing
