long distance swimmers from all over England
meet at Durley Chine lifeguard station every weekend
no matter what the weather to train for all types of long distance swims .
the group is run by Marcus Wadsworth & Friends to help
others train for ultra swimming  events .
we joined the other swimmers at around 7.40am ..
everyone was in good spirits even though today changeable  weather forecast
meant today's swim  was going to be  slightly rough..
Wind , Heavy Rain , very choppy sea conditions , maybe jellies .!
we got to Durley at 7.45am
we were in then water shortly after 8

Durley Deceleration forms given in.

8am on the dot today's Durley swimmers take to the water...all types of distances & times are planned from 8hrs swims to short dips...
Ricks plans are to swim  three ( maybe four ) One hrs swims at 100% , with an hour rest in between,  because we have already done at least three 2hrs
channel test swims in under 16 degrees each water over the past few weeks
thought for today we would do swim a different way

so today we had a different approach ,
trying to replicate our double channel relay  swim in few weeks time.
so swim hard for hour...rest..hard for another hour and so on...

until fours hours  of swimming was completed
Ross , Charlie & Claire
ready to go...
one of the safety  Rules at Durley is to swim with a Tow Float..
helps everyone stay  visible to other swimmers , to help the Durley crew on
the beach and to help the lifeguard stations along the beach
keep an eye on all  that are swimming .
Basher all Smiles if a TOUCH  little cold
after the first hrs swim

Young charlie posing again..;-)
bin bag & drink open water pos
Camp Rick..
The Sun Maybe out , but with strong wind blowing across the beach
made getting warm each hour a touch difficult
Time fly's when you want to rest..
before you know it , its time to get changed
 and get back swimming..
for hour two..
Ross all smiles
smashed the 2nd hour ..
Baby Face has been getting fitter and faster with every swim
this year...its great to see..

team decision time  ..
deciding if a 4th hour swim is possible ..
with the seahorses swim race to do the following day .
it was decided the 4th hr was not really needed as the 3 hr swims
had gone so well...
so we packed up and headed to the hotel for some much needed fun.

Awesome Thorn .
Claire looks a touch cold after second swim ..
she maybe cold but Claire`s swim speed in difficult conditions
today was simply  amazing .
