Kellogg's Swimtastic Awards 2013
Celebrate some of the country's most outstanding achievers in the world of Aquatics Athletes, teachers , and coaches of all ages and abilities, from all walks of life are recognized and congratulated for their outstanding achievements

 The Swimtastic   are not just about the awards dinner, 
its much much more, we meet at lunch time...
to firstly meet and chat to the stars of British Aquatics
Olympic , world champions , world record holders , GB water Polo ,
 GB Diving,Synchronized  and
Disability swimming in the Uk
after meet Stars comes the real fun part of the Day..
"Swim with the Stars.."
it really was a  fun afternoon  for the children yes, but also  mom`s and dad`s 
its not everyday you get to swim with Olympic champions     

There are 11  Swimtastic Awards up for Grabs tonight
Young Swimmer of the Year Award
Disability Swimmer of the Year Award,Parent of the Year Award
Senior Swimmer of the Year Award,Fundraising Award,
RLSS Lifesaving Award,Swim School of the Year Award

Family Swim Award,Community Project for the Year Award

Just one the Winners tonight , the amazing young girl Mia McGrory..
Mia.had open heart surgery this year ,
 but after just 6 weeks she was back in the pool and swimming..;-)

Ricks did not get award as such this evening , However our reward
was to be just to be nominated , and so we able to witness
the amazing swimmers here tonight and hear their personal
stories of how swimming has help them and others to have a better lives.
  
once the awards ceremony had finished it was time to let our hair down ( not that we have much to let down these days ) and try and dance the night away and also get a chance to meet some of the top people from tonight awards and from  ASA British swimming

and with the Swimtastic over , it also spells the end of swimming for 2013, Training is just getting under way for our 2014 swims , what they will be we are not quite sure yet, catch u soon ...Ricks.

Survivalifeguard Adventure Series, Event 4

Ricks joined our swan pool winter Buddies for another Sunday morning Multi sport Adventure Series event...sun was out but winter is coming ...car outside temp was reading 3 degrees , Richards water temp gauge was reading an alarming 7 degrees..but swim we did , as well as Bike,Run,Row,Kayak,Bike Carry,Bike Push, and a new event People Carry laps ..now whats i call a multi sports triathlon..
really fun morning , done in great company .10/11/13

Black Country Sport & Physical Activity awards 2013

Black Country Sport & Physical Activity awards 2013
held at the amazing Copthorne Hotel in Merry Hill Dudley 
Ricks Basher Bates had been put forward for the sports award
by Perry Beeches Masters Swimming Club
Nigel Redman ex England and British Lion Rugby Player
was our Guess speaker for the evening
 
BBC`S Radio West Midlands Presenter Pete Morgano was the Host for the
evening..

International wheel chair tennis champion
winner of the French open and runner up at Wimbledon 2013
in the ladies doubles

Basher Bates..

so not much compared to the amazing ladies  .;-)
