Cliff Lakes Open Water Swimming

A very NICE Monday night swim at the Lovely Cliff Lakes ..
This was Ricks first ever swim at this venue..
the water is lovely and warm at 13.
in years gone we,ve   seen swimming in 7/8 degree water at this time of yr,.,

It Was good to see so many ready to swim tonight ,
and its April..
also great to see our friends from the BRAT tri club again

7am to9am Saturday
6pm to 8pm Monday & Thursdays
£4.00 per swim
Inc Parking, changing rooms with showers ,
tea and coffee &biscuits    






 
Now that's what I call a real open water session ,

a bit of wind and rain ,  followed by the sun and a rainbow to finish..

and a few shakes and shivers on the drive home ..27/4/15

Swimathon 2015

Big Ricks at the Swimathon 2015
Ricks had 5 swimmers take part in the UKs Biggest charity swimming event..
the guys did event at the Wyndley swimming pool in Sutton Coldfield

did the 5k swim, Whilst Young Oliver did the 1.5k
the guys are pictured all smiles after swim.
Tony so far has raised over £50 for Marie Curie 


THE world’s biggest annual fundraising swim, Swimathon, was back ,with swimmers across the country can take part in one of the over 600 participating pools across the UK to raise funds for Marie Curie.

 
 TV presenter and interior designer Linda Barker .Olympic gold medalist Duncan Goodhew  headed up this year’s Swimathon campaign .also joining them was  Commonwealth gold medalist, Siobhan O’Connor,
 
  The Swimathon took place across the weekend of April 17 to 19.  
Swimmers could take part in the 5k, 2.5k or 1.5k individual
 or team 5k or 1.5k swims to raise money.
 

Marie Curie provides care and support to over 40,000 people living with terminal illnesses out in the community or in one of its nine hospices. Funds raised by Swimathon 2015 for Marie Curie will help people and their families living with a terminal illness make the most of the time they have together by delivering expert care, emotional support, research and guidance.

Midlands Open Water Swim Centre

we  did our first Open Water Swim here this week..

 Ross & Basher..
completed about 50 minutes in the lake.
which was a toasty 12degeres  ..
which was a bit chilly in speedo`s
