Rescue/survival winter Adventure Series..

The SurvivaLifeguard Ideal" 
is the ability to perform rescue or utility functions in harsh conditions. Based upon the concept of a rescuer’s journey to get help, the SLCSC Adventure Series provides friendly competition & purposeful exercise in & around the water during the winter months.

we  joined The Birmingham Lifeguards & SLCSC safety team 
for a first round of the Rescue/survival  winter  Adventure Series at the swan pool

water temp around 13 degrees, air temp at 8.30am was only 4 degrees,      




(Starting with a walk around the lake perimeter path (safety briefing takes place en route) followed by the swim, then (in any order) Rowing, paddling (kayak or rescue board), running, carrying a bicycle & cycling. Bonus points are awarded for doing everything with the option to substitute disciplines for extra distance of a preference.)
